Over 400 patients treated under AYUSH system; experts highlight Ayurveda’s role in holistic health

The 10th Ayurveda Day was marked with vibrant celebrations at the Government AYUSH Polyclinic, Deendayal Nagar, Chikhli, Rajnandgaon, featuring a ‘Run for Ayurveda,’ a free medical camp, and distribution of AYUSH medicines.

The event began with the ceremonial flag-off of the Run for Ayurveda, which traversed city routes before concluding at the polyclinic. Winners were felicitated with cash prizes and awards. An AYUSH Rath was also launched to promote Ayurveda awareness across the city, along with the distribution of herbal decoctions, sprouted grains, and lemon juice for public health.

During the medical camp, 401 patients were treated using Ayurveda, Homeopathy, Unani, and Yoga therapies, and free medicines were provided. Subject experts delivered lectures on the benefits of AYUSH systems in preventive and curative healthcare.
Chief Guest social worker Komal Singh Rajput noted the growing global interest in Ayurveda and alternative medicine, stressing its unique approach to disease prevention through lifestyle practices like dinacharya, ritucharya, and pranayama.
The program was attended by several public representatives including Sachin Baghel (Chairman, District Cooperative Central Bank), Councilor Shanky Bagga, Sunil Sahu, Sawan Verma, Shiv Verma, Bainabai Turhate, and Shruti Lokesh Jain, along with international hockey player Mrinal Choubey.

District AYUSH Officer Dr. Shilpa Mishra expressed gratitude to officials, doctors, nursing staff, and volunteers for ensuring the program’s success.
