Health camps, honour ceremonies, yoga sessions and awareness programs highlight women’s role in society

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, workers of Saksham Samdrishti Kshamata Vikas Evam Anusandhan Mandal actively participated in several programmes organized at different locations across Rajnandgaon district, promoting the message of women’s empowerment and social participation.
Through these events, various activities were conducted to highlight women’s self-reliance, dignity, and their growing role in social development.

A major programme was organized by the Bageshwar Dham Temple Dharmarth Trust, where Vaishali Jain attended as the chief guest. The event witnessed the participation of a large number of women’s groups and social organizations. Speakers shared their views on the importance of empowering women and strengthening their role in society.
In another significant event, the Women and Child Development Department Chhattisgarh organized a “Mahtari Sammelan” at the Municipal School located in Gandhi Sabhagruh. The programme was attended by several dignitaries including Khubchand Parkh, Shiv Verma, and Suruchi Singh. The Janpad Panchayat President and members of the District Panchayat were also present.
A health check-up camp was organized during the programme, and several women including Mitanins and young girls were honoured for their contributions. Women who have become self-reliant through self-employment were also recognized. Notably, women who have taken up e-rickshaw driving as a means of livelihood were felicitated for their efforts toward financial independence.

Among those honoured was Mamta Chandravanshi from Kothitola village in Dongargarh block. Despite being differently-abled, she has successfully led a women’s self-help group and inspired other women in the community toward empowerment and self-development.
World Women’s Day was also celebrated at the Composite Regional Centre Thakurtola. The programme was attended by several prominent personalities including Dr. Pukhraj Bafna, Sharda Tiwari, Alka Jani, Archana Das, Saraswati Maheshwari and Rubina Alvi along with members of the Kasturba Mahila Mandal.
During the event, essential items were distributed to elderly beneficiaries, while students studying at the centre delivered an impressive cultural presentation titled “Sherni Dahad,” which received appreciation from the audience.
Another programme was organized at the Prajapita Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwa Vidyalaya Lalbagh Centre. The event was conducted under the guidance of centre in-charge Pushpa Bahen. Prominent attendees included Hema Deshmukh and councillor Manibhaskar Gupta. A large number of women participated and shared their experiences about empowerment and social participation.

Similarly, the AYUSH Department Chhattisgarh organized a special programme at the Ayush Yoga Wellness Centre located at the district headquarters in Chikhli. A morning yoga session was conducted by Shilpa Pandey, Bharti Yadav, Sandhya Tiwari and Pragya Gupta.
Women participating in the session were honoured with support from Patanjali Mega Stores, encouraging them to adopt healthy lifestyles and remain active contributors to society.
During these programmes, Saksham workers also informed participants about the organization’s initiatives across the state and country, particularly its work in the field of 21 categories of disabilities. The activities highlighted Saksham’s efforts toward creating an inclusive society and empowering women, including those with disabilities.
