The birthday of senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Poornima Sahu was celebrated in Rajnandgaon with organisational dignity and enthusiastic participation of party workers, transforming the occasion into a tribute to her decades-long commitment to the party. The event was not merely a personal celebration but a recognition of the BJP’s deep-rooted cadre culture and unwavering organisational discipline.
Poornima Sahu is widely regarded as a living example of grassroots politics, dedication, and sustained struggle within the BJP. Having served the organisation continuously for nearly 30–35 years, she has held responsibilities across several affiliated bodies, including the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Durga Vahini, Bajrang Dal, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), BJP Mahila Morcha, and the district BJP unit. Her long-standing association has earned her respect as an honest, hardworking, and consistently active party worker.
Party leaders noted that there is hardly any senior BJP leader at the state level who is unfamiliar with Poornima Sahu’s organisational journey. Entering politics during her student life, alongside current district BJP president Komal Singh Rajput, she has come to be seen as synonymous with the party’s ideological and organisational ethos in the region.
The presence of District BJP President Komal Singh Rajput, Municipal Corporation Councillor Ravi Sinha, and senior BJP leader Moolchand Bhansali added political and organisational significance to the programme. The event was hosted at the residence of BJP leader Tejmala Deshmukh, where a large number of party workers gathered to express their respect and solidarity.
Addressing the gathering, speakers remarked that while the opposition remains engaged in rhetoric and opportunistic politics, BJP workers continue to strengthen the organisation at the grassroots through dedicated public service. Leaders emphasised that figures like Poornima Sahu form the backbone of the BJP, whose relentless efforts have strengthened the party from booth level to the district organisation.

Mahila Morcha leaders unanimously stated that women’s leadership in the BJP is not symbolic but plays a decisive role in policymaking and organisational direction. They asserted that in the coming days, every party worker would be even more active on issues of public service, development, and organisational expansion.
The programme sent a clear message that the BJP remains united, vigilant, and fully prepared to face every political challenge with the confidence and trust of the people, strengthened by the dedication of long-serving grassroots leaders like Poornima Sahu.
