The matter witnessed large-scale agitation, including protests, sit-ins, and awareness campaigns across the district.

Chhattisgarh Congress will stage a protest and office lockdown in Rajnandgaon on October 13, denouncing the BJP government’s decision to end the Half Electricity Bill Scheme. A major protest erupted in Phuljhar village, Rajnandgaon, against New Look Biofuels for allegedly laying an unauthorized pipeline to divert water from Kopeidih reservoir for industrial use. Led by Congress leaders Bhagwat Sahu and Jitendra Mudliyar, hundreds of villagers accused the company of depriving farmers of irrigation water. The protestors demanded immediate FIRs against company officials and complicit government officers.
