The Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation (RMC) has continued its anti-encroachment campaign by removing illegal structures and roadside obstructions in Nandai and Takapara. The civic body said the drive aims to improve traffic movement and ensure smooth rainwater drainage during the monsoon.

Rajnandgaon MP Santosh Pandey met Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari to discuss road infrastructure projects in the parliamentary constituency. During the meeting, he sought financial support for the widening of the Khairagarh–Kawardha road and proposed a four-lane highway from Dhawaipani to Simga, while expressing gratitude for ongoing road projects sanctioned under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF).

The Congress, led by Dongargarh MLA Harshita Baghel, staged a road blockade in Thelkadih of Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai district on Thursday, demanding approval for a separate college building. The protest was called off after administrative officials assured the demonstrators that the matter would be taken up with the government.

A resident of Mohad village in Rajnandgaon block received his caste certificate within a week after applying through the Seva Setu digital platform. The state government said the initiative is helping deliver administrative services quickly and efficiently while saving citizens both time and money.
