Union Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat has hailed Bastar as India's next iconic tourism destination, stating, "If you haven't seen Bastar, you haven't seen India." Highlighting the region's breathtaking natural beauty, rich tribal heritage, and remarkable transformation from a conflict-affected area to a thriving tourism hub, he said Bastar is poised to become one of the country's most sought-after travel destinations under the Centre's vision of developing 50 new iconic tourist sites.

Union Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Thursday described Chhattisgarh as the new “growth engine” of India’s development, as he and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai laid the foundation stone for the ambitious Bhoramdev Corridor project in Kabirdham district. Built at a cost of ₹146 crore under Swadesh Darshan Scheme 2.0, the project aims to develop Bhoramdev into a world-class spiritual and heritage tourism destination on the lines of Ujjain and Varanasi.

The Chhattisgarh Tourism Board, led by Chairman Neelu Sharma, is set to make a strong presence at the “Madhya Pradesh Travel Mart 2025” organized by FICCI and the Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board in Bhopal from October 11 to 13. Sharma will conduct B2B meetings with national and international travel agents to promote Chhattisgarh’s diverse tourism offerings. The state’s pavilion will showcase its cultural and natural heritage, aiming to attract global tour operators and boost tourist inflow.

At the 40th IATO convention in Puri, Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Chairman Neelu Sharma highlighted the state’s blend of natural beauty, heritage, and modern infrastructure. He invited tour operators to explore investment opportunities, emphasizing Chhattisgarh’s readiness to host national and international events.
