Speaker of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly, Dr. Raman Singh, participated in the Rajyotsav 2025 celebrations held at Sarveshwardas Municipal Higher Secondary School (Municipal School Ground), Rajnandgaon, marking 25 years of Chhattisgarh’s statehood. Extending greetings to citizens on the occasion, he said that the state is entering its 26th year with new aspirations and achievements, celebrating the “Silver Jubilee” of its formation.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Raman Singh said that the journey of the newly formed state began with several challenges such as regional imbalance, malnutrition, and migration. He expressed gratitude to former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Atal Bihari Vajpayee for fulfilling the hopes and aspirations of the people by creating a separate Chhattisgarh state.

Recalling his tenure as the Chief Minister, he highlighted large-scale improvements in infrastructure, such as the opening of 40,000 new schools, expansion of National Highways and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, and significant increases in medical and nursing colleges (from 2 to 15 medical colleges, and from 1 to 84 nursing colleges). To combat malnutrition and migration, the state ensured free rice distribution for the poor under the Food Security Act.
He stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the state continues to progress rapidly. Under the Krishak Unnati Yojana, farmers are receiving ₹3100 per quintal for 21 quintals per acre of paddy, resulting in a record procurement of 145 lakh metric tonnes of paddy, with bonuses distributed to farmers. He added that under the Mahatari Vandan Scheme, ₹670 crore is being transferred every month to 65 lakh women, strengthening financial independence at the grassroots.
