The Rajnandgaon district administration has rolled out an innovative academic intervention titled “Zone Coaching” to help academically weak students improve their performance in the upcoming board examinations.
The initiative targets students whose performance in half-yearly and pre-board examinations has been unsatisfactory, those who have failed in more than one subject, and students with irregular school attendance. Under the guidance of Collector Shri Jitendra Yadav, special coaching sessions are being conducted for four days across 24 identified locations in the district.

The programme is being implemented by the Education Department under the supervision of District Panchayat CEO Ms. Suruchi Singh. District Education Officer Shri Pravas Kumar Singh Baghel informed that dedicated teams of teachers have been deployed in all 24 zones to provide structured academic preparation aimed at improving overall district results.
The move follows a recent review meeting chaired by Collector Yadav, where pre-board examination outcomes were analysed and show-cause notices were issued to principals over poor performance. Subsequently, a detailed action plan was prepared by the District Education Office in consultation with subject experts.

Special emphasis is being placed on core subjects such as Mathematics, Science, and English—areas where most students had recorded failures. Coaching content has been designed around the past five years’ question papers, blueprint-based questions, and a district-level question bank prepared specifically to familiarise students with likely examination patterns.
For effective implementation, block-level nodal officers have been appointed, and monitoring teams have been constituted. The overall in-charge for the programme is Deputy Collector Shri Vishwas Hai, while Block Education Officers are leading execution at the field level. In addition, teams of principals are visiting various zones to assess coaching quality and interact with students and their parents regarding preparation strategies. District-level officers have also been assigned inspection responsibilities.

Out of the 24 designated coaching zones, sessions commenced today in 21 zones. The remaining three zones will begin operations from February 2, as Vyapam examinations are currently underway at those locations.
Of the 2,281 identified special-category students, 1,560 attended the coaching sessions on the first day. A total of 91 teachers are actively engaged in conducting the programme.
Officials expressed confidence that the Zone Coaching initiative will provide focused guidance to struggling students and contribute significantly to improving Rajnandgaon district’s overall board examination results.
