Prime Minister Modi Releases 20th Installment of PM-KISAN; Farmers Receive Scheme Benefits, Drone Demonstrations, and Organic Showcases

Rajnandgaon district marked PM Kisan Diwas with a large-scale event commemorating the release of the 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Addressing the nation from Varanasi, Modi transferred ₹22.61 crore to 1,05,252 farmers in the district using an Aadhaar-based direct benefit system.

The celebrations took place at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Surgi, where a comprehensive exhibition was organized to inform farmers about government schemes, modern agricultural practices, financial inclusion, and organic farming. Member of Parliament Santosh Pandey inspected the stalls and distributed Arhar mini kits, KCC cards, and Soil Health Cards to participating farmers.
Special efforts were made to assist farmers in opening zero-balance Jan Dhan accounts at the customer service center, with guidance also provided on the Atal Pension Yojana.

Highlights of the exhibition included:
- FPO and horticulture stalls featuring indigenous produce like desi chana, green rice, lentils, coriander leaves, kodo, kutki, and traditional rice varieties.
- Crop Insurance School educating farmers on schemes like PM Fasal Bima Yojana and Weather-Based Crop Insurance.
- Demonstrations on Nano Urea spraying via drones and scientific cultivation techniques for maize, pulses, and integrated pest management in paddy.
- Guidance on Agri Stack portal farmer registration and animal health programs.
- Awareness on schemes like Backyard Poultry and Dairy Entrepreneurship Development under subsidy.
A major attraction was the Organic Food Plaza, where self-help group (SHG) women sold items like bael juice, millet laddoos (jowar, bajra, ragi), and multigrain bhakhar badi. Additionally, seeds of local crop varieties such as Masoor, Chana, Chhattisgarh Mustard-1, Indira Matar-01, Rajiv Lochan Arhar, GW-451 Wheat, and Mahamaya Paddy were showcased.
The event also featured the live demonstration of nano fertilizer spraying using drones, underlining the district’s move toward precision agriculture and technological adoption in farming.

Distinguished attendees included Zila Panchayat President Smt. Kiran Vaishnav, Janpad Panchayat President Smt. Pratima Chandrakar, and several elected representatives and officials including Zila Panchayat CEO Sushri Suruchi Singh, Deputy Director Agriculture T.S. Thakur, Dr. Gunjan Jha (Senior Agriculture Scientist), and others.
The event witnessed active participation from hundreds of farmers, officials, and local community leaders, reinforcing the commitment toward empowering farmers and advancing sustainable agriculture in the district.
