The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) has transformed the life of Mrs. Madhu Verma, a resident of Ward No. 3, Motipur, Rajnandgaon, by helping her achieve the long-cherished dream of owning a permanent home. Despite enduring severe financial hardship following the death of her husband, Mrs. Verma displayed remarkable resilience while shouldering the responsibility of raising her two daughters.
Working as a cook in a private school, Mrs. Verma struggled to make ends meet, especially during school holidays when her income dropped sharply. Living in a rented house added to her worries, as the constant fear of eviction loomed whenever rent payments were delayed. She recalls that owning a house once felt like an unattainable dream.

A turning point came when her elder daughter, Sujata, secured a job as a receptionist in a private company. Through careful savings and determination, the mother-daughter duo managed to purchase a small plot of land. Soon after, Mrs. Verma applied for housing assistance under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2.0, and within a short span, her application was approved.
Following the sanction, construction of the house began with renewed hope and enthusiasm. Under the guidance of an architect, the family successfully completed a well-designed, fully equipped, and aesthetically pleasing home. Today, Mrs. Verma lives with pride and contentment in her tiled, permanent house.
Expressing her gratitude, Mrs. Madhu Verma said the scheme has brought new hope and dignity into her life. She extended heartfelt thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai for empowering economically weaker families through the housing initiative.
