New Principal Y. R. Sahu Takes Charge at Surgi Higher Secondary School

At the Government Higher Secondary School located in Adarsh Gram Surgi, the adopted village of the former Chief Minister, newly promoted Principal Mr. Y. R. Sahu formally took charge today. The school staff welcomed him with flower bouquets and extended their best wishes for his new role.

Promoted to Principal After 34 Years of Dedicated Service

Mr. Sahu, who has been serving in the education sector for the past 34 years, has taken over the post of Principal for the first time. His appointment created a sense of enthusiasm among teachers and students alike. Everyone expressed confidence that under his leadership, the school will set new benchmarks in academics, discipline, and cultural activities.

Interaction With Students — Focus on Discipline and Quality

After assuming charge, Mr. Sahu inspected all classrooms and interacted with the students. He advised those coming late to school or maintaining untidy hair to improve their discipline.
He later held a meeting with all teachers, giving clear directions to improve academic results, enhance teaching quality, and eliminate shortcomings at the earliest.

Collector Jitendra Yadav felicitated three society managers at the Rajnandgaon Collectorate on Tuesday for their exceptional work in acreage surrender under the Kharif Marketing Year 2025-26. Rajnandgaon Administration Seizes Illegal Paddy Worth ₹20 Lakh in a Single Day; Total Seizures Cross ₹5.46 Crore in Kharif Marketing Year 2025-26

Acting on the directives of Collector Jitendra Yadav, the Rajnandgaon district administration has intensified its crackdown on illegal paddy procurement. On 3 December, joint teams seized 649.60 quintals of illegal paddy worth ₹20.13 lakh across six cases. With this, total seizures during the Kharif Marketing Year 2025-26 have risen to 17,621.86 quintals valued at over ₹5.46 crore, along with eight vehicles. Officials have warned that repeat offenders and middlemen may soon face criminal cases.
