Durga Utsav Committees Directed to Follow Noise Timings, Ensure Smooth Traffic and Public Safety in Rajnandgaon

Ahead of the upcoming Navratri celebrations, Superintendent of Police (SP) Mohit Garg held a meeting with Durga Utsav Committees in Rajnandgaon, emphasizing that Garba and related festivities must be conducted in a traditional, religious, and socially responsible manner.
Highlighting Rajnandgaon’s identity as the “city of culture,” SP Garg urged committees to safeguard the city’s reputation by ensuring that no inconvenience is caused to the public. He instructed that Durga pandals must not obstruct roads or disrupt emergency services such as ambulances and fire brigades.

The SP reiterated that sound systems should strictly adhere to government guidelines, with usage permitted only until 10 p.m. He stressed compliance with noise regulations and asked committees to maintain cleanliness around pandals by arranging dustbins and proper sanitation. For security, organizers have been directed to install adequate lighting, CCTV cameras, and deploy volunteers at venues.
Police teams will conduct regular patrolling during the festivities, and citizens have been asked to report issues through the emergency helpline number 112. The meeting was attended by Additional Collector C.L. Markandey, Additional SP Rahul Sharma, CSP Vaishali Jain, and office bearers of Durga Utsav Committees.
