‘Nanhe Sitare’ Programme Concludes with Grand Finale in Rajnandgaon

Platform Enables Young Students to Showcase Language Skills and Creative Talent

The closing ceremony of the Nanhe Sitare Programme was held with great enthusiasm at the auditorium of Dr. Baldevprasad Mishra Government Higher Secondary School, Rajnandgaon. The programme was jointly organised by the Rajnandgaon District Administration, HSBC, and Open Links Foundation, with the participation of senior education department officials and other distinguished guests.

Addressing the gathering, District Mission Coordinator Satish Byohare said that the Nanhe Sitare initiative serves as the first stepping stone for primary and middle school students to take a leap towards holistic development. He urged teachers and officials to actively share innovative and impactful school-level practices through the Vinoba Platform, and congratulated the Vinoba team for their continuous efforts. He noted that many teachers have already been doing exemplary work in grooming students, whose dedication helped participants reach the district-level finals. He also praised the Vinoba team of Open Links Foundation for its consistent and innovative contribution to the education sector.

Dr. Jitendra Singh, Division Manager of Open Links Foundation, stated that the programme’s success was possible due to the strong support of the district administration and the education department. He expressed gratitude to all stakeholders involved.

The Nanhe Sitare initiative aims to strengthen students’ language skills, boost self-confidence, and provide a platform for them to showcase their talents. Launched on December 15, the programme received an overwhelming response from primary schools across the district. After school- and block-level competitions, 132 students were selected for the district-level finals, where they delivered impressive performances. To ensure fairness and quality assessment, experienced experts from the fields of education and literature served as judges.

The jury panel included Pranita Sharma, Kamni Sahu, Principal Virendra Kumar Dubey, Principal Dr. Monshi Varghese, Suresh Sahu, Rupesh Thakur, and Rahul Dev Shyamkunwar.

Competitions were conducted in three age groups—Classes 1 to 3, 4 to 5, and 6 to 8—across four categories: Spoken English, Storytelling, Poetry Recitation, and Spelling Bee. Winners were announced in each category.

In Spoken English, Nishita Uike, Tamanna Sahu, and Harsh Thakur secured first place in their respective groups, followed by Veera Kothari, Piyal Sahu, and Gayatri Sahu in second place, and Tarni Nirmalkar, Yahvi Meshram, and Anurag Sahu in third place.
In Storytelling, Dhani Nishad, Aditya Verma, and Ruby won first place, while Adbhut Divyanshi Sahu, Hulsi Verma, and Neha Kunjam stood second, and Ishwar Kumbhalkar, Mansi Verma, and Kamini Sahu secured third place.
In Poetry Recitation, Arvind Sinha, Tinjal Sahu, and Priya Yadav emerged as winners, followed by Urvashi Sahu, Sandhya Nishad, and Demin Manikpuri in second place, and Vamika Kalo, Preeti Sahu, and Chanchal Sahu in third place.

The Spelling Bee competition (Classes 4–5 and 6–8) saw Ratis Devangan and Tania Devangan claim first place, Ishani Bagde and Riddhi Sahu second place, and Devashish Pradhan and Nemika Sahu third place.

The programme was conducted by Programme Manager Tushar Sahu and Project Officer Narendra Sahu, with the entire Chhattisgarh team playing a key role in ensuring the event’s success.

The Nanhe Sitare competition is organised under the Acharya Vinoba Bhave Teacher Support Programme, currently active in Rajnandgaon district. The initiative focuses on empowering teachers through modern technology and promoting innovation-based teaching methods. At present, the Vinoba programme is operational in 1,336 government schools across all blocks of the district, benefiting 5,536 teachers and approximately 1.3 lakh students through various academic initiatives such as JNV and NMMSE mock tests, the Polestar programme, and club activities.
