Honorarium for October and November released under Mission Clean City scheme in Rajnandgaon

The Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation has released a total payment of ₹63.83 lakh to sanitation workers, popularly known as Swachhta Didis, engaged in door-to-door cleanliness activities under the Mission Clean City scheme. The payment has been made for the months of October and November 2025.
According to official information, the Directorate of Urban Administration and Development, Chhattisgarh, Nava Raipur, approved and released ₹31,61,568 as honorarium for October 2025 and ₹32,22,124 for November 2025 to self-help group members working as sanitation workers in the city. With this, a cumulative amount of ₹63,83,692 has been credited to the Swachhta Didis for the two-month period.
Officials from the Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation stated that the honorarium is released promptly as soon as approval is received from the state government, ensuring timely financial support to sanitation workers.

At present, door-to-door waste collection is being carried out across all 51 wards of Rajnandgaon city through 17 Solid and Liquid Resource Management (SLRM) centres. A total of 442 Swachhta Didis are actively engaged in the cleanliness drive. These workers collect household waste daily and carry out segregation of dry and wet waste at the SLRM centres, playing a crucial role in maintaining urban sanitation and environmental hygiene.
The initiative under the Mission Clean City scheme has not only strengthened waste management at the grassroots level but has also provided sustainable livelihood opportunities to women associated with self-help groups.
