Municipal Commissioner Shri Atul Vishwakarma carried out an early morning inspection of the Basantpur area to review the status of sanitation and drinking water supply, and to ensure qualitative improvement in civic services. During the inspection, he issued clear instructions to strengthen cleanliness measures, remove encroachments and ensure systematic waste management across the area.
While inspecting Basantpur, the Commissioner directed officials to immediately lift garbage from chowks, intersections and both sides of road dividers, and to initiate action for the removal of encroachments. He interacted with local residents to gather feedback on water supply and sanitation-related issues, assuring them of prompt redressal.

Taking note of complaints regarding pipeline leakage on the road leading towards the Kodhikhana area, Shri Vishwakarma instructed the concerned officials to carry out immediate repairs. He also directed the removal of encroachments found over drains, stressing that roads and drainage systems must remain unobstructed. Officials were asked to issue notices wherever encroachments were identified and to take action under the Malma Mandap norms against unauthorized dumping of construction material and debris.
Reviewing cleanliness in lanes and neighbourhoods, the Commissioner held discussions with sanitation workers and reminded them that sanitation is an essential service requiring sincere and responsible discharge of duties. He emphasized the need for further improvement in cleanliness and instructed that sweeping and garbage collection be ensured not only at major intersections but also along both sides of road dividers.
