The sacred festival of Mahavir Janma Kalyanak Mahotsav is being celebrated with religious fervour and community participation in Rajnandgaon under the aegis of the Sakal Jain Shri Sangh. The five-day celebration, scheduled from March 27 to March 31, witnessed a series of spiritual, cultural, and social activities on its third day, highlighting the teachings of Lord Mahavir centered on non-violence, harmony, and compassion.
Harmony Padyatra Promotes Message of Ahimsa
The day began at 6:00 AM with an Ahimsa Sadbhavana Padyatra starting from the Digambar Jain Temple Ganj Line premises. Devotees from the Jain community participated in large numbers, walking barefoot through major city routes including Sadar Bazaar before concluding the march at Jain Bageecha.

Participants carried forward the ideals of Lord Mahavir, spreading messages of peace, mutual harmony, and ethical living throughout the city.
Day-Long Spiritual and Social Activities
Following the padyatra, a collective Samayik and Charitracharya Sadhana session was organized at Samta Bhavan at 8:30 AM, where members of the Jain community gathered for meditation and spiritual discipline.
Community service activities formed a major part of the celebrations. Veer Prasadam distribution was held between 12:15 PM and 2:00 PM near Gurudwara Chowk, while additional food and sharbat distribution took place at Jain Sthanak Bhavan in Sadar Bazaar.
A specially designed Kids Carnival based on an airport theme was organized at the new hall of Jain Bageecha, attracting participation from over 400 children who enjoyed games and received gifts.
Earlier in the day, Bhagwan Mahavir Panchkalyanak Puja was conducted at the Mahavir Kalp Vriksh Jinalaya, followed by a fruit distribution program at Mahavir Vriddhashram during the evening hours.
