Acting on the directives of District Collector and Magistrate Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, the Excise Department in Rajnandgaon continues its rigorous campaign against illegal liquor sellers, transporters, bootleggers, and public drinking.
According to Excise Officer-in-Charge Mr. GPS Darde, a total of 16.380 bulk litres of illicit country liquor—including Santri liquor manufactured in Maharashtra—was seized, along with a motorcycle used in the illegal transport.
As part of the operation, Excise Sub-Inspector Rajkumar Kurre and his team intercepted Dallu Nishad on the Banjari to Masool route. He was caught transporting 41 bottles (7.380 bulk litres) of Santri liquor illegally on a two-wheeler (Dream Yoga, Registration No. CG-04-KU-5637). The liquor and the vehicle were confiscated on the spot.

In a separate operation, Excise Officer Kusumlata Jolhe and her team recovered 50 bottles (9 bulk litres) of plain country liquor from Yudhishthir Rajput near Mohara Bypass Road. All the seized liquor was illegally possessed and transported.
The accused were booked under relevant provisions of the Excise Act and have been taken into custody. Legal action is being pursued accordingly.
Authorities have intensified inspections at hotels, dhabas, and liquor outlets to curb illicit liquor sales. Excise officials across all zones have been instructed to conduct regular raids and take strict action against violators.
