In a remarkable display of cultural resurgence, 70 members of the Vanvasi (tribal) community from the villages of Jhoomar, Bohil, Agarpani, Neur, and Chhindidih marked their ghar wapsi (homecoming) during the “Sanskriti Gaurav Samman and Felicitation Ceremony” held at the Special Backward Tribe Hostel ground on the occasion of Seva Diwas.

The event saw local MLA Bhavana Vohra, along with dignitaries, ceremonially washing the feet of the returning families as a mark of honor and welcome. Speakers at the program highlighted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, efforts to preserve and strengthen tribal culture and traditions are bearing fruit. They emphasized that ghar wapsi is not merely a matter of faith but a powerful step toward reclaiming cultural identity.

Government initiatives such as free ambulance services in tribal belts, mobile health path labs, expansion of educational facilities, construction of over 3,300 PM Awas homes, paved roads, and infrastructure development were also spotlighted as milestones that are helping integrate tribal communities into the mainstream of development.
Addressing the gathering, BJP leader and MLA Smt. Bhavana Vohra said, “The tribal culture, which protects water, forests, and land, is the true heritage of Chhattisgarh. Efforts will continue for the upliftment of tribal society and to bring back those who were misguided into conversions.”

The ceremony was attended by District President Rajendra Chandrawanshi, senior leaders, Mandal presidents, public representatives, and a large gathering from the tribal community, who collectively expressed pride in their cultural revival.
