PM Matsya Sampada Yojana helps Jitesh Hedau earn ₹5.50 lakh net profit, while Kaushal Vikas Yojana enables Durgeshwari Sahu to secure nursing employment

Government schemes aimed at promoting self-employment, skill development and economic empowerment are creating new opportunities for rural families in Rajnandgaon district. Two beneficiaries from Chhuriya development block — Jitesh Kumar Hedau of Chando village and Durgeshwari Sahu of Sitakasa village — have benefited from government initiatives in fisheries and skill development respectively.
PM Matsya Sampada Yojana Boosts Jitesh Hedau’s Fisheries Enterprise
The Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana is supporting the development of fisheries as an organised and economically viable activity in rural areas.
Jitesh Kumar Hedau, a resident of Chando village in Chhuriya development block, expanded his fisheries activities after availing assistance under the scheme. The construction of a rearing pond provided him with improved facilities for fish farming and opened avenues for increasing his income.
Under the scheme, a one-hectare water area was developed for fisheries activities. Hedau received a government grant of ₹2.80 lakh for the construction of the rearing pond.
He said the assistance helped him carry out fisheries activities in a more organised manner.
Fish Sales Generate ₹5.50 Lakh Net Profit
Hedau is engaged in fish farming and the sale of fish. He said that he earned a net profit of ₹5.50 lakh through fish sales.
According to him, the additional income is being used for family requirements and his children’s education, besides being reinvested in agriculture and fisheries activities.

Expresses Gratitude for Government Support
Hedau said the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, operated under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with government support being provided under the guidance of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, gave him an opportunity to expand his fisheries activities.
He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister and Chief Minister for the benefits received under the scheme and said government initiatives are helping rural families connect with self-employment and strengthen their economic position.
Skill Training Helps Durgeshwari Sahu Secure Employment
The Mukhyamantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana is providing youth with employment-oriented skill training aimed at creating job opportunities and promoting self-reliance.
Under the scheme, Durgeshwari Sahu of Sitakasa village in Chhuriya development block underwent GDA Nursing training and secured employment after completing the course.
After completing her Class 12 education, Durgeshwari began looking for employment opportunities. During this period, she learned about GDA Nursing training being offered at the Livelihood College, Rajnandgaon, under the Mukhyamantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana.
Motivated by the information about employment opportunities after training, she applied for the programme.
Completes 618-Hour GDA Nursing Training
After being selected for the training, Durgeshwari regularly attended the course and successfully completed 618 hours of GDA Nursing training. She also passed the examination conducted after the training.
Following completion of the training, she secured an employment opportunity at Mittal Hospital in Raipur.
Today, Durgeshwari earns ₹6,000 per month, giving a new direction to her aspirations.
She expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai for the employment opportunity received through the Mukhyamantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana.
