Under Good Governance Week, the Administration to Villages campaign has given fresh momentum to government welfare schemes in Rajnandgaon district, with a strong focus on teamwork, transparency and accountability. Addressing a review meeting at the Collectorate conference hall, former Collector Ashok Agrawal lauded the district administration for its people-centric and coordinated approach.
Agrawal said that Rajnandgaon has a long-standing tradition of teamwork and public participation, which has enabled several innovative initiatives to succeed. He congratulated the district administration for receiving a national-level award under the Jal Jeevan Mission for water conservation efforts, and praised schemes like Trinetra for effective crime control and the smooth functioning of the paddy procurement system.
Emphasising transparency and accountability, he advised officials to regularly update scheme-related data on portals to reduce RTI applications and save administrative time. He also stressed continuous grievance redressal through camps in both rural and urban areas, noting that collective efforts can turn even difficult tasks into achievable goals. Initiatives such as Poshan Laika and Mission Jal Raksha were specially appreciated, and officials performing exemplary work were felicitated.

Collector Jitendra Yadav’s Remarks
Collector Jitendra Yadav said that under Ashok Agrawal’s guidance, the district witnessed effective coordination across departments. Women self-help groups have gained new direction, and officials have been instructed to hold camps in remote villages for swift and sensitive grievance redressal.
He highlighted that MGNREGA payments are being made through DBT with Aadhaar-based e-KYC, digital transactions have simplified tax payments in panchayats, and Rajnandgaon ranks first in the state in Ayushman card creation. Continuous monitoring through nutrition rehabilitation centres under the Poshan Laika campaign is helping tackle malnutrition, while PM Awas Yojana surveys have been completed, accelerating construction. Under Mission Jal Raksha, over one lakh women have been engaged, reducing semi-critical zones in Dongargarh. Farmers are also being encouraged to adopt alternative crops in the rabi season.
District Panchayat CEO’s Address
District Panchayat CEO Surchi Singh informed that 18 camps have been organised so far at district and block levels under the campaign, with Rajnandgaon ranking second in the state for grievance redressal progress. Applications related to Ayushman cards, MGNREGA job cards, pensions and ration cards are being resolved promptly.
The meeting was attended by Additional Collectors C.L. Markandey and Prem Prakash Sharma, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma and other officials.
