Aromatic dishes, enthusiastic students, and a lively weekly market turn the annual Bal Mela at Karamtara’s Government Kisan Higher Secondary School into a grand community celebration.

The melodious and vibrant celebration also witnessed the presence of Janpad Member Tuman Lal Sahu and Village Patel Ramkumar Sahu, who interacted with students, visited food stalls, and encouraged the young participants after tasting the dishes.

The annual Bal Mela organized at Government Kisan Higher Secondary School, Karamtara transformed into a delightful blend of flavours, learning, and community spirit on Thursday. The traditional fair, known for its festive charm, once again captivated children, parents, and villagers with an array of mouth-watering dishes prepared by the students themselves.

From spicy aaloo bhajiya paired with home-made chutney to tangy chaat, bhel, gupchup, idli-sambar, bread rolls, veggie pakoras, and chole-bhature — the food stalls remained the centre of attraction throughout the event. Visitors praised the culinary skills of the students, who enthusiastically managed the preparation, display, and sale of their dishes. The weekly market held alongside the fair added to the colour and hustle, keeping the venue bustling all day.

The programme was graced by Chief Guest, Sarpanch Mrs. Rekha Baghel, while Shri T.C. Sahu presided over the event. Distinguished guests Jagdish Ram Sahu and Mahesh Ganjir were also present.

Mrs. Baghel lauded the initiative, stating that such events significantly enhance practical learning and self-confidence among students and should be organized regularly. Presiding guest Shri Sahu congratulated the school for its successful event, while Jagdish Sahu appreciated the students’ participation and enthusiasm.

School Principal Rajesh Sharma highlighted the significance of Children’s Day, reminding everyone that the day symbolizes respect, joy, and the holistic development of children. He emphasized that students should be encouraged equally in academics as well as extracurricular activities.
