Following strict instructions from District Collector and Magistrate Shri Sanjay Agrawal, the Excise Department of Rajnandgaon has launched an aggressive crackdown against illegal liquor trade. Under this drive, several successful raids were carried out across different rural regions, leading to major seizures and arrests under the Excise Act.
Assistant Commissioner of Excise, Shri Yadunandan Rathore informed that Excise Sub-Inspector of Rajnandgaon Rural Circle, Smt. Tuleshwari Dewangan along with Head Constables Milap Mandavi, Kishori Korram, and Deepak Sinha seized 40 bulk litres of illicitly brewed liquor along with distillation materials such as pipes and containers near Gwalindih Nala. The liquor was found abandoned at the site and confiscated as per legal procedure.
In another raid, Excise Sub-Inspector Anil Singh and constables Lal Singh Rajput and Bhojraj Uike seized 15 pouches of country-made liquor (total 2.7 litres) from the possession of Mukesh Kumar in village Belgav. Similarly, 17 pouches of foreign liquor (3.06 litres) were seized from Manthir Bharti in village Palandur.
Excise Sub-Inspector Rajkumar Kurre along with Manish Rajak and Anil Sinha also seized 20 pouches of Maharashtra-manufactured country liquor (totaling 3.6 litres) from Guman Singh, who was illegally transporting it on a two-wheeler (Hero HF Deluxe) near village Buchatola on the Masool route. The accused was arrested and further legal action has been initiated as per the provisions of the Excise Act.
Routine inspections are being conducted at hotels, roadside eateries (dhabas), and licensed liquor shops to curb the illegal sale of liquor. The Assistant Commissioner has directed all circle in-charges to intensify checks and take stern legal action against violators without delay.
The administration reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining law and order and protecting public health by eliminating the menace of spurious and unauthorized liquor trade.
