The Election Commission has extended the last date for submitting manual forms under the Special Summary Revision (SAR) from 11 December to 18 December, bringing significant relief to citizens who had been unable to submit their forms due to various reasons.

BJP’s active youth worker and booth in-charge of two booths each in Mohra and Nandai wards, Gitesh Gupta, welcomed the decision wholeheartedly. He informed that while nearly 90% of voters in his area had successfully submitted their forms, around 10% residents were still left out due to issues such as document errors, shortage of time, or incorrect form filling. Gupta also appreciated the dedicated efforts of Anganwadi workers and field staff, who continuously visited households motivating citizens to submit their forms promptly. He highlighted that booth-level officers (BLOs) explained to residents:

“Today we have come to your doorstep to collect your form, but if you do not submit it within the deadline, you may have to run around offices later.”
This approach, he said, encouraged many more citizens to complete their submissions.

Recognizing the genuine difficulties faced by the public, Gupta remarked that the Election Commission’s decision would help make the voter list more accurate, authentic, and complete. A clean voter roll, he added, is crucial for future government processes such as passport issuance, document verification, and availing various schemes.

Concluding his remarks, Gitesh Gupta said,
“With the deadline extended, every citizen now has a fair opportunity to ensure their name is included in the voter list.”
