Marking a major step forward in the city’s infrastructure and civic development, Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker and local MLA Dr. Raman Singh will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth ₹23.44 crore on Wednesday, May 21 at 6 PM during a public event at Urja Park.

In a symbolic gesture of urban progress, Dr. Singh will also formally inaugurate a newly built fish aquarium at Pushpavatika, constructed at a cost of ₹30 lakh under the District Mineral Foundation Trust.

The event will witness the presence of key dignitaries including Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma, MP Santosh Pandey, former MP Abhishek Singh, and other senior leaders. The projects are part of a comprehensive urban development initiative sanctioned by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Urban Administration Minister Arun Sao.

Mayor Madhusudan Yadav, while addressing the media, detailed the scope of the projects being launched. Among the highlights is the construction of a Nalanda Complex with a state-of-the-art library aimed at aiding students preparing for competitive examinations. This facility, funded through a state budget allocation of ₹11.18 crore, will provide essential academic resources in a modern, inclusive environment.

The development package includes the construction of roads, drains, community halls, stages, public gardens, entrance gates, and shaded structures — all intended to boost public utility and enhance civic amenities across Rajnandgaon.

The Mayor emphasized the government’s commitment to holistic urban growth. “The push for infrastructure is being guided by real needs and strong public recommendations. Projects like the Nalanda Complex will transform the education landscape of Rajnandgaon,” said Mayor Yadav.

He also extended a public invitation to citizens, councillors, public representatives, journalists, and students to attend the prestigious event and become part of Rajnandgaon’s development story.
