Member of Parliament Santosh Pandey attended the Constitution Protection and Social Justice Day celebration organized on the occasion of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti and the Diamond Jubilee of the Indian Constitution at village Jhithratola in Rajnandgaon district. The event was hosted under the aegis of the World Buddhist Association, Chhattisgarh State Unit.
The program began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by dignitaries in front of Dr. Ambedkar’s portrait, followed by the rendition of the Chhattisgarh state anthem “Arpa Pairi Ke Dhar.” MP Pandey was warmly felicitated by community members with a garland, symbolic badge, and a memento.
Addressing the gathering, MP Pandey emphasized that the life of Dr. Ambedkar remains an eternal source of inspiration for the struggle for equality, social justice, and human dignity. He also lauded the central government’s decision to include caste-based enumeration in the upcoming national census, calling it a historic step towards fulfilling Babasaheb Ambedkar’s vision of a just and inclusive society.
Highlighting Dr. Ambedkar’s early efforts in law and social reform, Pandey recalled his foundational work in establishing the Bahishkrit Hitkarini Sabha to uplift the oppressed and promote education. He also mentioned Dr. Ambedkar’s editorial contributions through publications like Mook Nayak, Bahishkrit Bharat, Samta, Prabuddha Bharat, and Janata, which played a vital role in empowering Dalits and marginalized communities.
Pandey extended heartfelt congratulations to the organizers and praised such initiatives that keep the message of Dr. Ambedkar alive among the people.
The event was presided over by District Panchayat President Smt. Kiran Ravindra Vaishnav, with BJP District President Komal Singh Rajput as the special guest. Other prominent attendees included District Panchayat Vice-President Kiran Sahu, members Prashant Kodape, Anita Mandavi, Devkumari Sahu, senior BJP leaders M.D. Thakur, Chandrika Prasad Dadseena, Ravindra Vaishnav, Ravindra Ramteke, Ajay Patel, Sanjay Sinha, Kanta Sahu, and a large gathering of local citizens, social workers, and political activists.
The atmosphere reflected a deep reverence for constitutional values and unity in promoting the principles of Dr. Ambedkar in contemporary society. The event concluded with a call for continued efforts toward achieving social harmony and equitable development.
