Focus on PMAY-G, solar power, water conservation and timely completion of development works

District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Ms. Suruchi Singh on Thursday reviewed the progress of key schemes and development works being implemented by the Panchayat and Rural Development Department. The review meeting was held through video conferencing at the District Panchayat conference hall.
During the meeting, the CEO took detailed information on the progress of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G). She instructed panchayat secretaries to carry out daily inspections of sanctioned houses and ensure completion of construction work within the stipulated time frame.
Ms. Singh also directed officials to organise regular “Surya Sabhas” to ensure that more rural households benefit from the Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana. She stressed that necessary action should be taken against those showing lack of interest in implementing the scheme effectively.

Emphasis was laid on strengthening water conservation initiatives, including rainwater harvesting, soak pit construction and plantation activities. Officials were instructed to submit proposals related to these works to the District Panchayat at the earliest. She further called for improvement in the progress of Jal Raksha activities, agriculture-related works and e-KYC processes.
Under the panchayat sector works, directions were issued to complete projects related to Atal Digital Service Centres, the Chief Minister’s Integrated Development Scheme, and works approved by the OBC Commission within the current financial year.
District-level officers, officials of the District Panchayat, representatives from the electricity department and the Rural Engineering Service, along with other officials, were present at the meeting. Chief Executive Officers of Janpad Panchayats and other officials participated through video conferencing.
