Municipal Commissioner Mr. Atul Vishwakarma today convened a meeting with officials of the Water Department and valve operators to review and strengthen the city’s drinking water supply system. Emphasizing the importance of uninterrupted water supply, he directed that no negligence will be tolerated in this vital public service and urged the department to work in full coordination.
During the meeting, Commissioner Vishwakarma interacted with valve operators to gather updates on the condition of water tanks and the challenges faced during operations. The valve operators informed him that several tanks were leaking, some required cleaning, and a few valves and chambers needed repair or reconstruction.
The Commissioner instructed technical officers to complete all necessary repair work well before the onset of summer. He ordered immediate action to fix leakages, replace faulty valves, clean tanks, and repair pipelines wherever required to ensure smooth water supply during the hotter months.

He also noted that since daylight hours are shorter during winter, adequate lighting should be arranged around tanks and pump houses. Areas needing painting or cleaning must be maintained properly. The Commissioner further directed concerned officers and sub-engineers to inspect tanks and pipelines in their respective wards and carry out repairs or maintenance as needed.
Mr. Vishwakarma instructed valve operators to open the valves only after the tanks are fully filled and to monitor water flow for any issues such as leakages, low pressure, or interrupted supply, reporting them immediately to concerned officials. He also emphasized that areas facing recurring water shortages during summer should be inspected and preventive arrangements made in advance.
The meeting was attended by Executive Engineer Mr. Pranay Meshram, Assistant Engineer Mrs. Garima Verma, Sub Engineers Mr. Anoop Pandey and Mr. Yuvraj Komre, Fitter Mr. Somanath, and several valve operators.
