Campaigns on Blindness Prevention and Infant Protection Month launched across the district

The district administration today launched the National Blindness Control and Low Vision Programme along with Infant Protection Month, with a special awareness vehicle, the “Drishti Rath”, flagged off by Collector Tulika Prajapati from the Collectorate premises.
The programme will run till September 8, focusing on raising awareness about blindness prevention and the importance of eye donation. Infant Protection Month will continue until September 30, emphasizing child health and safety.

On the occasion, CMHO Dr. Vijay Khobragade, District Nodal Officer (Blindness Control) Dr. R.R. Dhurve, District Programme Manager Dr. Rakesh Verma, Eye Assistant Officer Virendra Mahant, Akash Sahu, Durgesh Verma, Assistant Nodal Officer Vishnu Gupta, and Darwin Devangan were present.
Officials highlighted that these initiatives aim not only to ensure children’s health security but also to sensitize the community about preventing blindness and promoting the significance of eye donation.
