Rajnandgaon Collector Jitendra Yadav on Monday directed officials to accelerate the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, strengthen drainage arrangements in waterlogging-prone areas and ensure the timely execution of priority government programmes during the district’s weekly time-limit review meeting held at the Collectorate.
Reviewing the progress of various departments and flagship government schemes, the Collector instructed all urban local bodies to identify waterlogging-prone locations and ensure effective drainage arrangements in view of the ongoing monsoon season.
He also reviewed pending cases related to the CM Helpline 1076, Chief Minister’s Jan Darshan, public grievances, applications received during Sushasan Tihar, weekly time-limit cases, PGN, PG Portal and Jan Darshan. Officials were directed to ensure quality disposal of all pending cases within the prescribed timelines.
Mr. Yadav further instructed departments to submit replies related to the forthcoming Assembly session within the stipulated timeframe and to prioritise Aadhaar verification of students enrolled in all schools.

Faster rollout of PM Surya Ghar Scheme
Reviewing the implementation of the PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, the Collector directed officials to complete scrutiny of pending applications at the earliest and expedite the installation of rooftop solar systems for eligible beneficiaries.
He said delays or negligence in implementing the scheme would not be tolerated and instructed officials to organise regular Surya Ghar meetings in wards and gram panchayats while conducting extensive public awareness campaigns to promote the benefits of solar energy.
Describing the scheme as an important initiative to reduce household electricity expenses, Mr. Yadav said rooftop solar systems have already been installed at the homes of 3,828 beneficiaries across the district. He noted that these households have become energy producers and are also earning financial benefits by supplying surplus electricity to the grid.
The Collector directed officials to intensify efforts to ensure that more eligible beneficiaries are covered under the scheme.
Review of HPV vaccination campaign
The Collector also reviewed the district’s ongoing Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination campaign, being implemented under a Government of India initiative to protect adolescent girls against cervical cancer.
He directed officials to create greater awareness among parents and children about the importance of the HPV vaccine, describing it as an effective preventive measure against serious diseases in the future.
