Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai joined Assembly Speaker and former Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh in celebrating the latter’s birthday at a grand musical evening titled “Kailash Kher Raag Nandgaon” held at the State High School ground. The event, organized by the Yuva Welfare Foundation, featured renowned Bollywood singer and Padma Shri awardee Kailash Kher, whose soulful Sufi and folk renditions enthralled the packed audience till late night.

Chief Minister Sai extended warm birthday greetings to Dr. Raman Singh on behalf of Chhattisgarh’s three crore citizens, calling the occasion “a proud and historic moment.” He hailed Dr. Singh’s 15-year tenure as Chief Minister, crediting him for the state’s comprehensive development. “From food security to education, health, and infrastructure, Dr. Raman Singh laid the foundation of modern Chhattisgarh,” said the Chief Minister. He further added that Singh’s initiative to ensure food distribution through the Public Distribution System earned him the affectionate title ‘Chauhar Wale Baba’ across India.

Recalling his public service journey, Dr. Raman Singh expressed deep gratitude toward the people of Rajnandgaon for their unwavering support. “Rajnandgaon gave me a second birth in politics. Whatever I am today—as MLA, MP, Union Minister, Chief Minister, and now Assembly Speaker—is because of the people’s trust, affection, and blessings,” he said. He poetically described his bond with the city, calling it “my pride, my identity, my strength, and my honor.”
