The ongoing Seva Pakhwada in Rajnandgaon witnessed enthusiastic participation across all sections of society as citizens, students, and social organizations joined hands in a citywide cleanliness campaign. The initiative, titled Swachhotsav – Clean and Green Festival, saw Morning Walk and Yoga Club members contributing through park cleaning and plastic plogging activities at Pushpavatika Garden and Chowpatty.
Mayor Madhusudan Yadav led the drive, administering the oath of cleanliness to participants. Accompanied by Municipal Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma, Council Chairman Topendra Singh, Health Committee In-charge Shaikhi Bagga, Water Works In-charge Sunil Sahu, Revenue In-charge Raja Makhija, and several civic officials, the Mayor emphasized that collective citizen engagement is vital for making the city clean and improving its ranking in the national Swachh Survekshan.

Calling upon residents to devote at least 100 hours of shramdaan (voluntary labor) annually—equivalent to two hours a week—Mayor Yadav urged people to renounce single-use plastic and uphold the pledge: “I will not litter, nor let others litter.”
The campaign continues daily during Seva Pakhwada, spreading awareness and instilling a spirit of responsibility toward environmental conservation and public hygiene.
