Chhattisgarh Sub-Junior Girls’ Hockey Team Trials Held

26 Players Shortlisted for National Championship Training Camp Ahead of July Tournament in Ranchi

In preparation for the 15th Hockey India Sub-Junior Girls’ National Championship, “Chhattisgarh Hockey” organized a one-day selection trial at the International Hockey Stadium, Rajnandgaon. The event was held under the leadership of Chhattisgarh Hockey President Feroz Ansari, and saw participation from 76 young female hockey players representing various affiliated districts and institutions across the state.

General Secretary of Chhattisgarh Hockey, Mr. Manish Srivastava, informed that the national championship will be held in Ranchi, Jharkhand, from July 3 to July 14, 2025. Based on their performance during the trials, 26 promising players have been selected to form the core group for the state team. These selected athletes will soon begin training at a dedicated camp to be organized at the same international stadium in Rajnandgaon.

The Chhattisgarh team is scheduled to play its opening match against Dadra and Nagar Haveli on July 3.

The selection trials witnessed the presence of several experienced coaches and officials, including:

  • NIS Hockey Coach Anuraj Srivastava
  • SAI Hockey Coach Paramjeet Singh
  • Prahlad Tandi and Vishnu Yadav from Raipur Hockey Academy
  • Kartik Yadav, Shailendra Verma from Khelo India Centre Bastar
  • Himanshu (Kawardha), Asha Thomas, Krishna Yadav, Himanshu Malik, and Ayush Sahu

The initiative reflects Chhattisgarh Hockey’s commitment to identifying and nurturing young talent at the grassroots level and preparing a competitive squad for the upcoming national event.
