In line with the Silver Jubilee celebrations of Chhattisgarh and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday on September 17, the district administration and Indian Red Cross Society, Rajnandgaon, will organize a mega free health camp at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Government Medical College. The camp will focus on serious ailments and run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, chairing a preparatory meeting with health officials and Red Cross representatives, emphasized the spirit of service and inclusivity. He directed that sufficient doctors, paramedical staff, and volunteers be deployed to ensure smooth functioning. Registration counters, patient seating, food and drinking water arrangements, wheelchairs, medicines in adequate stock, and identity cards for volunteers were also mandated.

The camp will feature specialists including cardiologists, pediatric cardiologists, gastroenterologists, oncologists, nephrologists, neurologists, and orthopedic experts. Alongside consultations, free services such as Ayushman Card registration, Ayushman Vay Vandana Card for senior citizens (70+), and a voluntary blood donation drive will be offered. Special instructions were given to expedite Ayushman Card issuance for patients without one, using Aadhaar and mobile numbers.
Senior public representatives are expected to attend the camp, and publicity through ward-level announcements has been initiated to maximize outreach. The program forms part of the nationwide Seva Pakhwada running from September 17 to October 2, 2025.
