The Chhattisgarh School Education Department has amended the detailed advertisement for Assistant Teacher Recruitment 2026, opening an online application opportunity for eligible candidates with certain disabilities. The Directorate of Public Instruction, Chhattisgarh, has issued a corrigendum in compliance with an order of the Chhattisgarh High Court.

Under the revised provisions, eligible candidates with visual impairment (Blind), hearing impairment (Deaf) and cerebral palsy (CP) will also be able to apply online for the recruitment.

The recruitment process covers 2,292 Assistant Teacher posts, including 795 posts under the E-cadre and 1,497 under the T-cadre.

Amendment Follows Chhattisgarh High Court Order

According to the Directorate of Public Instruction, the detailed recruitment advertisement for vacant Assistant Teacher posts in government schools across the state was published on July 24, 2026, on the Chhattisgarh Employee Selection Board’s website.

The amendment follows the High Court’s decision dated October 9, 2026, in WPS No. 6783 of 2026 — Meenakshi Mangalkar and Others versus State of Chhattisgarh and Others.

The corrigendum revises the eligibility provisions relating to candidates with disabilities in accordance with the court’s order.

Three Disability Categories Included

As stated in the corrigendum, the categories of disabilities identified as suitable for Assistant Teacher posts have been updated in line with the revised notification issued by the Social Welfare Department on September 11, 2026.

The categories now include:

  • Blind (B): Candidates with visual impairment.
  • Deaf (D): Candidates with hearing impairment.
  • Cerebral Palsy (CP): Candidates in the cerebral palsy category.

The corrigendum also deletes sub-clause (iv) of Clause 05 of the detailed recruitment advertisement.

The distribution of posts reserved for persons with disabilities, by group and category, has been specified in accordance with the General Administration Department’s instructions dated March 5, 2019. The details cover reserved posts for candidates with visual, hearing and locomotor disabilities, as well as multiple disabilities.
