Following a state-level call by Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) State President Rahul Tikriha, BJYM workers in Rajnandgaon staged a protest on Monday by burning effigies of senior Congress leaders Bhupesh Baghel and T.S. Singh Deo. The protest was organised under the joint banner of BJYM North and South Mandals in front of Digvijay College, as per the directions of BJP district leadership Komal Singh Rajput and the district BJYM unit.

Addressing the gathering, BJYM District General Secretary Golu Suryavanshi alleged that Congress leaders had been repeatedly making “irresponsible and derogatory statements” against Pandit Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham and noted storyteller Pandit Pradeep Mishra. He claimed that such remarks had hurt the sentiments of followers of Sanatan Dharma and triggered widespread resentment among devotees.

Suryavanshi further alleged that the Congress leadership was attempting to divert attention from alleged corruption cases, including the liquor scam, by using inappropriate language and targeting religious faith and traditions. He asserted that, according to BJYM, the Hindu community would not forgive such actions.

BJYM South Mandal President Prakhar Shrivastava, while expressing his views, said that remarks made against saints committed to the idea of Ram Rajya had crossed all limits of decency. He alleged that leaders who deny the cultural and religious identity of Lord Ram were attempting to create unrest in the state, adding that the public would respond appropriately in due course.

The protest witnessed the presence of several BJP and BJYM office-bearers, including North Mandal President Sumit Singh Bhatia, South Mandal President Prashant Gupta (Golu), State Executive Committee Member Sameer Shrivastava, District Vice-President Pintu Verma, ministers Chintu Sonkar, Ujjwal Kaser and Gyanesh Gupta, councillor Sanju Baghel, treasurer Kamlesh Prajapati, and a large number of party workers and youth activists.

The demonstration concluded peacefully, with BJYM leaders reiterating their demand for accountability and respect towards religious sentiments and cultural traditions.
