The BJP Minority Morcha has launched a sharp attack on the Congress over statements expressing sorrow at the killing of top Naxal commander Hidma, accusing the party of showing undue sympathy toward violent anti-national groups.
Mohammad Irfan Sheikh, District President of the BJP Minority Morcha, said that while the BJP governments at the Centre and in the state are taking decisive steps to eliminate the decades-old scourge of Naxal terror, the Congress continues to adopt a “soft and apologetic tone” toward extremists.
Sheikh said that Hidma was one of the most brutal and violent Naxal leaders responsible for countless killings, and any expression of grief over his death “exposes Congress’ long-standing inclination to indirectly support violent and anti-national organisations.”

Zaheer Abbas, District General Secretary of the BJP Minority Morcha, also hit out at the Congress, recalling how the party once created controversy by allegedly offering preferential treatment to terrorists in Kashmir. He added that Congress leaders were now engaging in emotional rhetoric over Naxal casualties in Bastar and Telangana, “revealing an old and understood nexus between Congress leaders and Naxal groups.”
Both leaders asserted that the Congress is resorting to undignified and abusive political language against BJP leaders in a desperate bid for power, while simultaneously displaying sympathy toward Naxal outfits that seek to overthrow the state through guns, bombs and violence.
They further reminded the Congress of the Jhiram Valley massacre, where several top Congress leaders were killed by Naxals. “Has the Congress forgotten the sacrifices of its own leaders?” they asked, questioning what they called the party’s “hypocritical and contradictory political behaviour.”
The BJP Minority Morcha leaders concluded that the public now fully understands what they describe as the Congress’ “double standards” and its inconsistent political narrative regarding national security and extremist violence.
