BJP Rejects Congress Interpretation of Poll Results

Responding to the outcome of the Ghumka Nagar Panchayat elections, BJP District President Komal Singh Rajput described Congress allegations against the state government as misleading, baseless and reflective of political frustration.

He stated that portraying the result of a local civic body election as evidence of the failure of the Vishnu Deo Sai government’s governance model reflects what he termed the Congress party’s narrow and opportunistic political approach.

Refuting statements made by Congress leader Madan Sahu, Rajput outlined several points in defense of the BJP government’s performance.

Local Elections Cannot Define Government Performance

Rajput argued that municipal elections are primarily influenced by local equations, personal outreach and immediate community issues.

“A Nagar Panchayat election is fought on local factors. Presenting it as a mandate against the state’s triple-engine government reflects political immaturity. The people of Chhattisgarh have recently demonstrated overwhelming faith in BJP policies and the governance of the Vishnu Deo Sai government during the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections,” he said.

Government Guarantees Being Fulfilled on the Ground

Rejecting allegations of unfulfilled promises, Rajput said the BJP government has successfully implemented several key commitments.

He cited the Mahatari Vandan Yojana, stating that financial assistance is being deposited into the bank accounts of lakhs of women every month without interruption.

He also highlighted measures taken for farmers, claiming that paddy growers are receiving a record procurement price of Rs 3,100 per quintal and that pending bonus payments for two years have already been disbursed.

Regarding housing schemes, he stated that the Sai government approved and revived Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana projects that had allegedly been stalled during the previous Congress administration.

Criticism of Previous Congress Government

Countering praise for former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel’s tenure, Rajput alleged that the five-year Congress government was marked by corruption and various controversies.

He claimed that development activities had slowed significantly during that period and alleged that the state had been pushed into a debt burden.

According to Rajput, the current government is focused on improving administrative systems and bringing greater transparency to governance.

‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’ Versus Appeasement Politics

Responding to Congress allegations that the BJP relies on emotional and religious issues for political gains, Rajput said the party works on the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas and Sabka Prayas.”

He asserted that government welfare schemes are being implemented without discrimination and made available to all eligible citizens.

Rajput further accused Congress of pursuing appeasement politics and attempting to divide society for political benefit.

Respect for Democratic Mandate

Concluding his remarks, the BJP leader said that the party respects democratic values and the verdict delivered by the people of Ghumka.

“We welcome the decision of the people of Ghumka. As a vigilant opposition, BJP will continue to work for the development of the Nagar Panchayat and safeguard the interests of its residents. We will also continue to highlight any shortcomings in the functioning of the local administration,” he said.

The statement comes amid ongoing political exchanges between the BJP and Congress following the declaration of the Ghumka Nagar Panchayat election results.
