In a significant step toward promoting higher education among girls, Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure convened a meeting with principals and representatives of government and private colleges to discuss the implementation of the Azim Premji Scholarship Scheme.

Dr. Bhure emphasized that the scholarship would help girls from government schools belonging to low-income families continue their college studies. Eligible students include those who passed Class 10 and 12 as regular students from government schools and have secured admission in the first year of undergraduate or diploma courses (academic session 2025–26) in any recognized institution across India.

The scholarship will provide financial support of ₹30,000 annually for the entire duration of the degree or diploma program (ranging from 2 to 5 years). The scheme will be implemented free of cost by the Azim Premji Foundation, with no application fees.
