Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh Extends Financial Assistance to Victims in Rajnandgaon

Former Chief Minister provides relief cheques to bereaved families, patients, students and social organisations during constituency visit

Former Chief Minister and Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh on Tuesday provided financial assistance to several victims and needy individuals from his Rajnandgaon Assembly constituency during his local visit. Taking immediate cognisance of the problems presented by residents, Dr Singh distributed relief cheques as part of voluntary assistance (Swachchhand Anudan) at the Speaker House.

According to information released by the media cell, Dr Raman Singh personally listened to the grievances of people who had arrived at the Speaker House and directed that financial aid be issued without delay to support families facing hardship due to death, illness, education and social needs.

As part of the assistance, a cheque of ₹1 lakh was handed over to the mother of late Abhishek Patil, Sarpanch of Gram Panchayat Kakrel, following his demise. Financial help of ₹50,000 was provided to Pushpa Bai of Kaurinbhatha for the cancer treatment of her daughter, while ₹50,000 was given to Pushpa Bhai Nirmalkar of Gram Navagaon after the sudden death of her husband.

In addition, ₹50,000 was sanctioned for Saket Sahitya Parisar, Surgi, ₹50,000 was provided to Kumari Jai Verma of Parvat Rohi for educational purposes, and ₹20,000 was given for medical treatment to a resident of Kanharpuri Ward. A sum of ₹25,000 was also provided to the Guha Nishad Samaj of village Mokhla for the purchase of utensils.

The beneficiaries expressed satisfaction and gratitude upon receiving the assistance, stating that the timely financial support would help them cope with their immediate difficulties.

On the occasion, District BJP President Komal Singh Rajput, Mandal President Sumit Bhatia, along with Golu Gupta, Tarun Laherwani, Ginni Chawla and Rajendra Jain ‘Bantu’ were present.
