He asserted that conducting elections under One Nation One Election is entirely possible in India. Dr. Singh noted that even when resources and technological advancements were limited, simultaneous elections were held in the past. MP Santosh Pandey stated that after the implementation of the Constitution, Lok Sabha and Assembly elections were held simultaneously. However, changing circumstances led to separate elections. Recently, a committee chaired by former President Ram Nath Kovind submitted a report, based on which a bill was introduced in Parliament. Public awareness and opinions are being sought to facilitate simultaneous elections. He highlighted that the current government has introduced significant reforms, including the implementation of GST. The government is committed to One Nation One Election with strong resolve, which will save time, money, and reduce pressure on human resources. He cited that the 1952 general elections cost ₹5 crore, while the 2014 Lok Sabha elections incurred an expenditure of ₹1.35 lakh crore. Keeping these factors in mind, social organizations and the public should support this proposal and promote it as a movement.

Former MLA Shivratan Sharma, participating in the seminar, stated that people from all sections of society and the nation are working towards One Nation One Election. Until 1967, Lok Sabha and Assembly elections were held together, but political changes disrupted this practice. He emphasized that conducting Lok Sabha, Assembly, urban body, and panchayat elections simultaneously would save money and reduce pressure on human resources. It would also enable maximum voter participation, eliminate doubts about EVMs and voter lists, and allow saved funds to be utilized for public welfare schemes. He expressed confidence that One Nation One Election can be implemented without obstacles. The example of simultaneous urban and panchayat elections in Chhattisgarh serves as a model.

Mayor Madhusudan Yadav stated that One Nation One Election aligns with the country’s values and is the need of the hour. Frequent elections strain financial and human resources, making simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly elections essential. The central government has introduced a bill under the 129th Constitutional Amendment, which is in the nation’s interest, as it will save time, money, and human energy, enabling welfare schemes for all. Padmashri Dr. Pukhraj Bafna, participating in the seminar, described it as a platform for national reflection and public awareness. He noted that simultaneous elections would reduce election frequency, save time and money, and curb other expenditures. Padmashri Phoolbasan Yadav added that One Nation One Election would strengthen democracy. Frequent elections cause inconvenience to the public, and simultaneous elections would save time and money while enabling welfare schemes for the poor. Advocate H.B. Ghazi also expressed support for the proposal during the seminar.

The event was attended by District Panchayat President Kiran Vaishnav, Tourism Board Chairman Neelu Sharma, District Cooperative Central Bank Chairman Sachin Baghel, Komal Singh Rajput, other public representatives, and a large number of intellectuals were present.
