Raid conducted at organic fertilizer unit in Dongargarh; samples collected for laboratory testing, legal action to follow

The Agriculture Department in Rajnandgaon has intensified its crackdown on the illegal manufacturing, storage, and sale of fertilizers. Acting on the directions of Collector Jitendra Yadav, the department seized 2,485 bags of fertilizer and raw materials from an organic fertilizer unit allegedly operating without the required license in Katalwahi village of Dongargarh block.
The action was carried out by the Agriculture Department’s flying squad at Kisan Mitra Swastik Organic Private Limited, where officials found that the unit failed to produce the mandatory statutory license and other required records during the inspection.
2,485 Bags of Fertilizer Material Seized
During the raid, officials seized a total of 2,485 bags of fertilizers and raw materials from the premises. The seized stock included:
- 1,512 bags of PROM (Swastik Organic)
- 62 bags of Biochar
- 375 bags of Prism Champion
- 35 bags of PVC SG
- 14 bags of Super Grade-1 (98% Humate)
- 19 bags of Humic Acid
- 40 bags of Compost Powder
- 40 bags of White Clay (Bentonite)
- 40 bags of Rock Phosphate
- 8 bags of Bio NPK
- 340 bags of Kuber Bio PROM
Officials prepared a seizure report (Panchnama) in accordance with legal procedures.

Samples Sent for Laboratory Testing
The Agriculture Department collected samples of the seized materials for laboratory analysis. Authorities are also examining the company’s production records, storage registers, and other related documents.
Officials stated that appropriate legal action will be initiated under the Fertilizer (Control) Order, 1985, and other applicable laws after laboratory reports and the investigation are completed.
Crackdown on Illegal Fertilizer Operations
According to the district administration, the ongoing enforcement drive targets the illegal manufacture, storage, and sale of fake, substandard, and unlicensed fertilizers and bio-fertilizers across Rajnandgaon district.
The raid was led by District Fertilizer Inspector and Assistant Director of Agriculture Dr. Birendra Anant, along with Block-level Fertilizer Inspectors Jeevantlal Chandravanshi, Sunil Sharma, and members of the flying squad.

Farmers Advised to Buy Only from Authorized Dealers
The Agriculture Department has urged farmers to purchase fertilizers only from authorized dealers and immediately report any suspicious activities involving fertilizer manufacturing or sales to the department.
Officials reiterated that inspections and enforcement actions against illegal fertilizer manufacturers and traders will continue to safeguard farmers’ interests and ensure the availability of quality agricultural inputs.
