Swift action by Surgi Police brings relief to seven farmers affected by repeated theft incidents

Theft Incidents in Farmlands Solved by Police
Police Outpost Surgi of the district police achieved a breakthrough by arresting accused involved in a series of thefts targeting farmers’ fields. The incidents had created significant anger and concern among farmers of village Khaira following repeated thefts.
Multiple Farmers Targeted in Organized Theft
According to police information, between November 28–29, 2025 and December 7, 2025, unidentified thieves targeted the fields of nearly seven farmers in the village. The accused allegedly stole one submersible pump, approximately 810 feet of cable wire, and other agricultural equipment.
After registration of the complaint, police treated the case seriously and initiated an investigation.
Investigation Conducted Under Senior Police Supervision
The investigation was carried out under the direction of Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma, guidance of Additional Superintendent of Police Kirtan Rathore, and supervision of City Superintendent of Police Vaishali Jain.
A special team was formed, and several suspects were questioned during the course of the investigation.
Accused Confessed During Interrogation
During questioning, accused Pintu alias Durlabh alias Dinu Meshram (25 years), resident of Baiga Para, Lakholi, was taken into custody. During sustained interrogation, he confessed to committing the theft along with his associate Rahul Bansphod alias Konda and three minors.
Police stated that the motorcycle used in the crime and the stolen property had already been seized earlier in connection with another case registered at Somni Police Station.
The accused were formally arrested and produced before the court, which subsequently sent them to judicial remand in jail.
Police Team Commended for Swift Action
Sub-Inspector Harish Tembhurkar, Constables Yashwant Sahu, Chaman Sahu, Santosh Deshmukh, and other staff members of Surgi Outpost played a significant role in successfully solving the case.
