Pregnant women receive maternal and nutrition guidance; health screenings, awareness activities and welfare scheme information organised across Anganwadi centres

The Aangan Milan Seva programme was organised across all projects, clusters and Anganwadi centres in Rajnandgaon district on Friday under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. The initiative, led by the Women and Child Development Department, focused on connecting women, children and families with government welfare schemes while promoting awareness about health, nutrition and social security.
The programme was conducted with coordinated support from the Health Department and Labour Department, bringing together various activities aimed at strengthening awareness and participation among beneficiaries.
Health Check-ups and Nutrition Awareness
Health check-up camps were organised at various Anganwadi centres during the programme. Pregnant and lactating women, along with other beneficiaries, underwent health examinations and received necessary guidance.
Nutrition awareness activities were also conducted for the better health of women and children. Participants were provided information on balanced and nutritious diets, along with demonstrations and guidance on ideal nutritional meals.
Maternity Ceremony and Women-Centric Activities
To make the programme participatory and engaging, various recreational sports and group activities were organised for women.
The traditional God Bharai ceremony was conducted for pregnant and lactating women. During the occasion, they were provided essential information on precautions related to maternity and nutrition.
Beneficiaries who had used government schemes effectively to bring positive changes to their families were also honoured during the programme.
Anganwadi Workers and Mitanins Honoured
Anganwadi workers and Mitanins who performed outstanding work were felicitated during the Aangan Milan Seva programme.
Their contribution towards women and child health, nutrition, vaccination, public awareness and taking government schemes to the last mile was appreciated.
Labour Welfare Schemes Explained
The Labour Department also provided beneficiaries with information about various welfare schemes operated by the department.
Eligible workers and their families were informed about the benefits, eligibility criteria and application procedures of these schemes, with the objective of ensuring that more needy families are able to access government welfare benefits.
Public Participation at the Core of Seva Sankalp
Elected representatives, officials and employees from the Women and Child Development, Health and Labour departments, Anganwadi workers, helpers, Mitanins, and a large number of women and beneficiaries attended the programme.
The Aangan Milan Seva programme connected the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan with public participation and conveyed the message of ensuring that the benefits of health, nutrition and welfare initiatives reach every eligible family.
