Rajnandgaon (BTI)- In light of the upcoming festive season, the Food and Drug Administration Department has directed officials to conduct rigorous inspections of food establishments to ensure public health and safety. Under the guidance of Collector Sanjay Agarwal and the supervision of SDM Rajnandgaon Khemalal Verma, the Food Safety Department is closely monitoring locally produced and imported food items, with a special focus on milk, paneer, and sweets.
As part of this drive, the department has collected samples from several establishments, including paneer and milk from Annapurna Dairy, milk from a milk collection center, semolina from Dharam Kirana in Dongargaon, jaggery from Maheshwari Traders, cardamom seeds from Harichana, paneer and khoya from Shekhar Jain Dairy, curd from Sai Dairy, and boondi laddus from Mahalaxmi Sweets. Additionally, 45 kilograms of loose paneer from Annapurna Dairy has been kept under the supervision of the operator for further inspection.
District Food Safety Officer Domendra Dhruv stated that previously substandard paneer samples collected from Jalaram and Swagatam Hotel are currently under judicial review. Furthermore, mobile food testing laboratories will be deployed for on-the-spot testing of food items.
The official also revealed that ten cases were registered against individuals operating food businesses without licenses or registration. Among these, seven cases are under judicial review, while seven more are in the process of legal evaluation and will soon be presented before the competent court.
The inspection drive covers both urban and rural areas, ensuring that food establishments comply with safety regulations. Authorities have confirmed that strict monitoring and surprise inspections will continue to safeguard public health.
