In a show of unwavering alliance solidarity, Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) [LJP(RV)] chief Chirag Paswan met Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today, extending heartfelt congratulations on the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) sweeping victory in the recently concluded Bihar Assembly elections.

The meeting, held shortly after the election results solidified the NDA’s dominance, underscores the strong bonds within the coalition that propelled it to a commanding majority. Chirag Paswan Hails NDA's Historic Bihar Triumph: Meets Nitish Kumar to Extend Congratulations on Resounding Victory

The 2025 Bihar Legislative Assembly elections, conducted in two phases on November 6 and 11, saw votes counted on November 14, culminating in the NDA securing an unprecedented 202 seats in the 243-member house—a historic landslide that far exceeded pre-poll predictions. The BJP clinched 89 seats, JD(U) 85, and LJP(RV) a remarkable 19, marking a significant surge from its single seat in 2020. This victory cements Nitish Kumar’s leadership, ensuring his continued tenure as Chief Minister and reinforcing the NDA’s grip on the state.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, Paswan said, “After the Bihar Assembly Election results today, I met with the Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar and extended hearty congratulations and best wishes to him for the NDA’s resounding majority.” He emphasized that the outcome reflects the people’s trust in the alliance’s vision for development, governance, and social justice, echoing the legacy of his father, the late Ram Vilas Paswan.

The opposition Mahagathbandhan, comprising the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Congress, and Left parties, managed only 35 seats, with RJD leading at 36 but failing to mount a credible challenge. Analysts point to high female voter turnout—71.6% compared to 62.8% for men—as a key factor in the NDA’s success, bolstered by targeted welfare schemes and a robust campaign focusing on youth employment and infrastructure.

Chirag Paswan’s LJP(RV) emerged as a standout performer, particularly in Paswan-dominated regions, solidifying its position as a crucial NDA pillar. “This victory is not just a number; it’s the fulfillment of Bihar’s aspirations for progress and unity,” Paswan added, vowing to accelerate initiatives like skill development and rural electrification in the coming term.

As celebrations continue across the state, the NDA’s mandate signals a stable five-year horizon for Bihar, with expectations high for collaborative governance under Nitish Kumar’s stewardship. The alliance’s unity, exemplified by Paswan’s prompt outreach, sets a positive tone for addressing pressing issues like migration, unemployment, and agricultural reforms. With the new assembly set to convene soon, Bihar stands poised for transformative growth under the NDA’s renewed leadership.
