Focus on maternal health, teacher accountability, and timely office attendance during weekly time-limit meeting

District Collector Jitendra Yadav directed officials to ensure that the Pradhan Mantri Suryaghar Muft Bijli Yojana (PM Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme) reaches maximum beneficiaries across both rural and urban areas. Speaking during the weekly time-limit meeting held at the Collectorate conference hall, he emphasized active participation of all departments for the effective implementation of government welfare schemes.
The Collector stated that the PM Suryaghar scheme is one of the government’s flagship initiatives, aimed at promoting renewable energy and household savings. He instructed officials to create awareness among citizens about installing rooftop solar plants based on their energy needs. Beneficiaries will receive real-time data on energy generation through net meters and smart meters, which will help reduce electricity bills and encourage energy conservation.

Yadav further directed all officers and employees to reach their offices on time, remain available at headquarters, and maintain positive public engagement. He also mentioned that the “Potth Laika” innovation from Rajnandgaon district received appreciation during the recent Collectors’ Conference, alongside commendable performance in the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Addressing health-related priorities, the Collector called for intensified efforts to reduce maternal mortality rates (MMR) by providing better healthcare facilities to high-risk pregnant women. He instructed the health department to identify vulnerable areas and ensure regular monitoring of ANC check-ups, sonography, vaccinations, and nutritional care through Nutritional Rehabilitation Centres (NRCs).
On the education front, Yadav stressed the need for regular attendance of teachers and students and directed strict monitoring to ensure compliance. He warned of disciplinary action against negligent teachers and instructed the education department to conduct monthly test reviews to improve board examination results.
He also reviewed arrangements for the upcoming paddy procurement season, directed effective participation in the Urja Raksha Abhiyan (Energy Conservation Campaign), and sought updates on e-office implementation.
District Panchayat CEO Suruchi Singh highlighted ongoing initiatives under the Swasth Noni Yojana, focusing on education and health of girl children through coordination between the Women & Child Development Department and NRLM women’s groups. She also emphasized the Adhi Karmyogi Abhiyan to achieve 100% saturation in tribal villages.
The meeting was attended by Additional Collectors C.L. Markandey and Prem Prakash Sharma, SDM Dongargarh M. Bhargav, Municipal Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma, SDM Rajnandgaon Gautam Chand Patil, SDM Dongargaon Shrikant Koram, and other senior officers.
