27th Regional Youth Parliament Inaugurated at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Dongargarh

Students from Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh Showcase Democratic Debates and Leadership Skills

The 27th Regional Youth Parliament was inaugurated with great enthusiasm and dignity at PM Shri School, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Dongargarh on Wednesday. The Bhopal regional-level event brought together students from Navodaya Vidyalayas across Chhattisgarh, Odisha, and Madhya Pradesh to enact and experience the vibrancy of India’s democratic process.

The program commenced with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Distinguished guests included Rajnandgaon MP Santosh Pandey, former MLA Vinod Khandekar, Saraswati Shishu Mandir Principal and Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education member Prakash Yadav, Assistant Commissioner of Navodaya Samiti Bhopal Lekhraj Meena, JNV Damoh Principal Ashok Tripathi, and JNV Vidisha Principal Jitendra Mishra.

Addressing the young participants, MP Santosh Pandey explained the intricacies of the parliamentary system in simple language. He highlighted how India is advancing rapidly on the strength of its Constitution and democratic framework, citing examples ranging from national missions like “Operation Sindoor” to India’s rising stature on global platforms.

Students from JNV Bilaspur, Mahasamund, and Koraput (Odisha) actively participated, simulating parliamentary debates on contemporary issues such as education and healthcare reforms, environmental protection, women’s safety, social justice, and the role of communication technology. Their articulate and logical arguments left a strong impression on the audience and dignitaries alike.

Principal of JNV Dongargarh, S.K. Mandal, emphasized that platforms like the Youth Parliament nurture leadership qualities, self-confidence, and democratic understanding among students. Former MLA Vinod Khandekar praised the students for their outstanding performances, adding that Navodaya students consistently excel in diverse fields. He urged the youth to take active part in such initiatives.

The event was smoothly conducted by Ram Kumar Chandra, with senior teacher Om Prakash Chaurasia delivering the vote of thanks. Staff members including Sneh Agrawal, Anil Kumar Pal, Deepchand Chaurasia, Krishna Kumar, and Janki Uike played crucial roles in ensuring the program’s success. Ashok Kumar Bisen was appreciated for excellent food arrangements.

Special acknowledgment was extended by Principal Sanjay Mandal of JNV Dongargarh to Principal Ashok Tripathi of JNV Damoh for his significant contribution, and to Principal Jitendra Mishra of JNV Vidisha for his role as a key adjudicator. The entire event was organized under the guidance of Assistant Commissioner of the Bhopal Regional Office, Lekhraj Meena.

The program concluded with formal thanks expressed by the school community to MP Santosh Pandey, former MLA Vinod Khandekar, and members of the media for their presence and support.
