Municipal Commissioner Atul Vishwakarma carried out an inspection of the immersion pond at Mohara on Monday morning and issued strict directives to officials to ensure proper arrangements ahead of the Ganesh festival.
During his visit, the Commissioner emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness and ordered the pond to be thoroughly cleaned and refilled with fresh water. He further instructed that the surroundings of the immersion site must be kept hygienic, with all electrical arrangements repaired and made safe for the upcoming festivities.
Vishwakarma also directed civic staff to repair damaged streetlights and electrical poles across both internal and external areas of the city. “Defunct lights should be fixed immediately, and hanging wires must be secured to avoid any risk. Given the monsoon and festival season, regular monitoring and maintenance of the city’s lighting system is essential,” he stated.
