Financial Inclusion and Saturation Camp Organized in Sankara Village by Bank of Baroda Atal Pension Yojana

During the camp, officials explained the significance of Jan Dhan accounts in promoting financial inclusion, particularly in relation to social security schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), and the Atal Pension Yojana (APY). They emphasized the pivotal role of Bank of Baroda—as India’s second-largest public sector bank—in connecting rural communities with the banking system and government welfare benefits.

It was highlighted that the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, is running a Financial Saturation Campaign from July 1 to September 30, 2025. Under this initiative, Jan Dhan accounts that are 8–10 years old and pending KYC updates will be ineligible to receive Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT), effectively barring account holders from accessing government scheme benefits.

The importance of insurance schemes for financial resilience during unforeseen events was reinforced through a street play performed by students of the Higher Secondary School, Somni, in collaboration with the Rural Self Employment Training Institute (RSETI).

Additionally, approval letters for SHG loans were distributed to members of the Sakhisahili, Jai Maa Saraswati, Jai Ambe, and Jai Sharda Maa Self-Help Groups.

The camp was attended by local public representatives, Bank of Baroda officials, and residents from nearby rural areas.
