Collectorate Reviews Ganesh Immersion Procession Plans to Ensure Order and Safety

Route Regulations, Noise Control, and Safety Measures Emphasized Ahead of Massive Ganesh Utsav Celebrations

Under the directives of District Collector Dr. Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure, Additional Collector Shri C.L. Markandeya convened a meeting at the Collectorate conference hall on Friday, focusing on the arrangements for the upcoming Ganesh immersion processions in Rajnandgaon.

Shri Markandeya highlighted the cultural and religious significance of the Ganesh Utsav procession, which draws large crowds from across the region. He stressed the need for orderly execution of the festivities, instructing all Ganesh Utsav committees to strictly follow the pre-approved procession routes and timings. “This is essential for ensuring timely access for fire brigades and ambulances in case of emergencies,” he stated.

The immersion of idols will be permitted only at designated locations, and committees have been instructed to avoid setting up pandals on public roads to prevent inconvenience to commuters and residents.

Reiterating legal compliance, the Additional Collector emphasized adherence to Supreme Court and High Court guidelines on the use of loudspeakers. He clarified that DJs playing loud music will not be allowed during the procession and violators will face strict legal action.

For enhanced security, Shri Markandeya urged the installation of CCTV cameras at key points along the route. Additionally, he announced a ban on the use of firecrackers, weapons, and sticks during the procession.

The meeting was attended by Municipal Commissioner Shri Atul Vishwakarma, Additional Superintendent of Police Shri Rahul Dev Sharma, SDM Shri Khem Lal Verma, and members of various Ganesh Utsav Committees.
